Skin Cancer Checks and Surgery

What is skin cancer?

Skin cancer occurs when skin cells are damaged, for example, by overexposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun.

Approximately, two in three Australians will be diagnosed with skin cancer by the time they are 70.*1

Australia and New Zealand have the highest rates of skin cancer in the world.*2

Every year, in Australia:

  • more than 12,000 people are diagnosed with melanoma each year, it is among the five most commonly diagnosed cancers in all age groups *3
  • the main cause of all types of skin cancer is over exposure to UV radiation *4

Dr Chris has a wealth of experience and expertise in skin cancer check and surgery. He has run dedicated Skin Cancer Clinics all over Adelaide for over 10 years. Spot checks and head to toe checks as well as surgery to remove skin cancers are available in clinic at Burnside Cosmetic.

For added peace of mind, we recommend you booking in a head to toe skin cancer check.
