What to expect with Laser Tattoo Removal at Burnside Cosmetic & SA Tattoo Removal
Treatments for an average sized tattoo typically take about 10 minutes, but larger or more complex tattoos can take longer. Some tattoo treatments take a few minutes, depending on the amount of ink available to treat.
Laser tattoo removal has been described as feeling similar to the actual tattooing process. PicoSure relies on photomechanical changes instead of heat to break ink particles into sand. Compared to the Q-Switch technology, which uses heat to break up ink particle into pebbles, our patients report that there is no comparison with the way it feels. PicoSure is bearable and short lived and most don’t need numbing cream. Other technologies can be excruciating and needing more treatments with potential blistering and infection. The risk of these complications is significantly reduced with PicoSure.
Pricing, number of treatments and length of time of the treatment depend on many factors such as age of the tattoo, where is, how heavily inked it is, how much removal you would like, what colours are used, what skin type you are, if you have previously attempted to remove a tattoo and how, etc.
At Burnside Cosmetic & SA Tattoo Removal, we recommend a consultation to obtain the necessary information to give you a more accurate estimate of how many sessions you may need and what it will cost per treatment. We don’t offer packages for this reason. Everyone is different and we offer pay as you go until you achieve your desired result. Given the type of procedure that it is, there is a doctor on site who will be available 24/7 if necessary and provide any aftercare required.
At Burnside Cosmetic, patient comfort and safety are a priority and a cooling system is used to minimise discomfort and numbing cream is also available if necessary. We also dress your tattoo post treatment if we think it is necessary and provide you with post treatment guidelines.
